15.5 million spectators in Belgian cinemas in 2023
In 2023, our country had 80 establishments operating cinema theatres as their main activity.
There were 15,543,816 spectators, or an increase of 14% compared to 2022 (13,683,579 spectators).
The gross revenue excluding VAT also rose to €145.7 million, or an increase of 18% compared to 2022 (€124 million).
The Flemish Region accounted for 45% of spectators, the Brussels-Capital Region for 17% and Wallonia for 38%.

De statistiek van de uitbating van de bioscoopzalen is een jaarlijkse lijst van het aantal bioscopen dat films vertoont van 35 mm en meer, het aantal zalen, plaatsen en het aantal bezoekers, vertoningen, programma’s per gewest, per provincie en voor België. Er bestaan ook enkele gegevens nopens de bioscopen die videofilms en 16 mm films vertonen.
