The index of seasonally adjusted of the number of hours worked in industry amounted to 102.16 in first quarter 2024. This represents a decrease of 0,4% compared to first quarter 2023.
The index of seasonally adjusted of the number of hours worked in construction amounted to 104.01 in first quarter 2024. This represents an increase of 0,9% compared to first quarter 2023.
The index of seasonally adjusted of the number of hours worked in trade and repair amounted to 103.57 in first quarter 2024. This represents an increase of 1,0% compared to first quarter 2023.
The index of seasonally adjusted of the number of hours worked in services amounted to 109.39 in first quarter 2024. This represents an increase of 0,6% compared to first quarter 2023.
The figures for first quarter 2024 are provisional. Since January 1, 2024, the indices are expressed with reference year 2021=100.

“Hours paid for” are generally the hours actually worked plus the hours paid for but not worked, such as paid annual leave, paid public holidays, paid sick leave, paid meal breaks and time spent travelling between the home and the workplace.
