The index of seasonally adjusted of the number of hours worked in industry amounted to 99.73 in third quarter 2020. This represents a decrease of 3.6% compared to third quarter 2019.

The index of seasonally adjusted of the number of hours worked in construction amounted to 105.73 in third quarter 2020. This represents an increase of 2.1% compared to third quarter 2019.

The index of seasonally adjusted of the number of hours worked in trade and repair amounted to 100.54 in third quarter 2020. This represents a decrease of 2.5% compared to third quarter 2019.

The index of seasonally adjusted of the number of hours worked in services amounted to 108.83 in third quarter 2020. This represents a decrease of 6.6% compared to third quarter 2019.

During the third quarter, most sectors were able to remain open, subject to compliance with government regulations to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus. This reopening favoured the resumption of activities in all commercial sectors, no exception. So compared to the second quarter of 2020, all sectors have seen their figures improve. This increase was 24.3 % in the trade and repair sector, whose seasonally adjusted index went from 80.89 to 100.54. There was an increase of 23.0 % in the services sector, where the index went from 88.51 to 108.83. The construction sector registered a 22.1 % increase from 86.58 to 105.73 and, finally, the index in the manufacturing sector rose by 11.9 % from 89.16 to 99.73.
