The gross index of the number of employees in industry without construction amounted to 102.31 in the fourth quarter of 2020. This represents a decrease of 0.7% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.
The gross index of the number of employees in construction amounted to 102.17 in the fourth quarter of 2020. This represents an increase of 0.1% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.
The gross index of the number of employees in trade and repair amounted to 103.01 in the fourth quarter of 2020. This represents a decrease of 0.8% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.
The gross index of the number of employees in services amounted to 108.88 in the fourth quarter of 2020. This represents a decrease of 4.0% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.
The gross index of the number of persons employed in industry without construction amounted to 102.48 in the fourth quarter of 2020. This represents a decrease of 0.7% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.
The gross index of the number of persons employed in construction amounted to 107.92 in the fourth quarter of 2020. This represents an increase of 0.6% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.
The gross index of the number of persons employed in trade and repair amounted to 102.73 in the fourth quarter of 2020. This represents a decrease of 0.6% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.
The gross index of the number of persons employed in services amounted to 108.93 in the fourth quarter of 2020. This represents a decrease of 3.1% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019.

The index of the number of people in employment is based on ONSS figures (for employees for whom ONSS is paid) and INASTI figures (INASTI: National Institute for the Social Security of the Self-employed). (Includes the self-employed and assistants who are not liable for ONSS).

Enterprises affiliated to ONSS or INASTI that practise their economic activity in NACE Rev. sections 1.1 C to M (Industry, retail business and services)
