With 4 direct maternal deaths, 1 indirect maternal death and 1 late maternal death (after 42 days) identified in 2016, the maternal mortality ratio for this five-year period centered on 2014 amounts to 3.7 deaths for 100,000 live births. That is a significant decrease since 2009 (6.1 maternal deaths for the period 2007-2011).
