Significant decrease in agricultural prices in November

The overall agricultural and horticultural price index decreased by 8.8 % between October and November 2020. On an annual basis, this is a decrease of 20.9 %.

Ware potatoes pull the index for (non-horticultural) plant products downwards. The tuber index has not exceeded 100 (reference year 2015) since July. Cereals somewhat offset these results, leading the index for plant products to finally fall by 13.5 % over the month and by 30.7 % compared to November 2019.

The index for horticultural products lost 17.8 % compared to October and 7.7 % compared to November 2019.

Finally, the index for animal products was the most stable in November compared to October (-4.7 %) but nevertheless fell by 22.9 % on an annual basis. It should be noted, however, that the indices for poultry and pigs continue to lose points at the end of 2020.
