At the end of 2015, 2,215 enterprises were working in the environmental sector in Belgium. This number increases every year. During the year 2015, 148 enterprises were created and 134 ceased their activities. In 2015, the turnover amounted to approximately 6.7 billions of euros. The sector employs more than 16,000 persons. The added value amounted in 2015 to 1.79 billion of euros.
