During the week from 15 to 21 May included (week 20), the business courts pronounced 117 bankruptcies, resulting in a total of 373 job losses.

So the figures for week 20 reveal a decrease in the number of bankruptcies and job losses compared to the previous week.

The number of bankruptcies is generally lower during the week of Ascension Day. This calendar effect also occurred last week.

During the first 20 weeks of 2023, the business courts pronounced 3,873 bankruptcies. This figure is 7.0% higher than in the first 20 weeks of 2022 and 9.2% lower than in the same weeks of 2019.

Job losses amount to 11,931 in 2023, an increase of 37.6% compared to 2022 and of 0.5% compared to 2019.
