Significant decrease in agricultural prices in July

The agricultural producer price index decreases by 38.5 % between June and July 2020. Compared to last year, the index is 17.18 points below its level of July 2019.

As for crop production, new potatoes decrease sharply compared to the previous season, at least for prices on the free market.There is little off-contract demand and therefore few transactions.

As far as animal products are concerned, the decrease in the price of pigs is particularly noteworthy, i.e. a decrease of 14.2 % compared to June 2020 and 20.6 % compared to July 2019.
