The lockdown measures due to the COVID-19* had a significant impact on the the number of overnight stays spent in tourist accommodations in March 2020. There were only 937,490 overnight stays.
57% of them took place in a hotel.
567,671 overnight stays were registered in the Flemish Region, 194,290 in the Walloon Region and 175,529 in Brussels.
*Since March 18, 2020, all accommodations except the hotels were closed. In hotels there were only overnight stays for non-tourist purposes.
