The most common occupations in Belgium are general office clerks, shop salespersons, domestic cleaners and helpers, cleaners and helpers in offices, hotels and other establishments, and secondary education teachers.

Heavy-truck and lorry driver is a job most common among men. General office clerk is the most common occupation among women.

Typical women's occupations are among others: beauticians, midwifery, home-based personal care workers, child care workers, early childhood educators and medical secretaries. The percentage of women in the total of employees in these occupations is above 97 %.
