The overall agricultural and horticultural price index remains stable in October, although the prices of some products fluctuated significantly.
The vegetable index increased by 19 % compared to the previous month. The increase is more pronounced for outdoor crops (+22.1 %) than for greenhouse crops (+13.7 %). For fruit, the situation varies with an increase in pears and a decrease in apples. However, compared to the season started in 2019, the price level for both apples and pears is better this year. The fruit index in October 2020 stands at 136.52 compared to 104.41 in October 2019.
The increase in the horticultural index is offset by a decrease in the agricultural index. The index of root crops decreases, as well as that of animals: -2.2 % for bovine animals, -5 % for pigs and -13.4 % for poultry, compared to September.
