Agricultural lands account for 44% of the ground surface area of Belgium. Forests account for 20% of the territory and residential lands for 9%.

The total land area is divided here into agricultural land, built-up and related land, and other land.

  • - 1995: intrapolated.

8.Sea area in the North Sea

  • - From 2015: MUMM-BMM-UGMM

9.Other land

  • - Residual category calculated by subtracting all other categories from land area (section 10).

10.Land area
