For all service sectors combined, as they are processed in this statistic, “HTNXK Total services excluding NACE code K (Financial and insurance activities)”, the volume of sales increased by 2% in February 2025 compared to February 2024.
The increase in sales volume for all service sectors combined is due to higher sales volume in all NACE sections except for “I Accommodation and food service activities” (-1.4%) and “N Administrative and support service activities” (-1%). The sharpest increase was registered in “L Real estate activities” (+7.4%).

Statbel publishes these indices based on REGULATION (EU) 2019/2152 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 November 2019 on European business statistics as regards services. According to that regulation, the indices are established on a monthly basis from reference year 2021 onwards. For the reference years 2000 to 2023, Statbel published a statistic produced on a quarterly basis.
Monthly indices are expressed with reference year 2021=100. In addition to gross indices, Statbel publishes indices adjusted for seasonal and working day variations.
