Due to the progressive easing of the lockdown measures taken because of the COVID-19 crisis, all outlets were open to the public again under certain conditions from 18 May 2020. This had a positive impact on retail trade figures.

The volume of sales of most sectors was higher in June 2020 than in June last year.

The total volume of sales in retail trade, excluding fuels, was 7.4 % higher than a year ago. Clothing and footwear stores also showed a further recovery in June, but still recorded a 12.2 % lower sales volume than last year in June.

E-commerce registered a 52.6 % increase of the sales volume compared to June 2019.
