Part-time work concerns 42.5% of female employees and 11.8% of male employees.
Four-fifths time employment is the most popular part-time working arrangement, both for men and women.
For female employees, the main reasons for working part-time are “provision of child or dependent care” (24%), followed by “other personal or family-related reasons” (20.2%), and “the desired job is only offered on a part-time basis” (17.2%). For men, the main reasons are: “the desired job is offered on a part-time basis only” (21%), “other reasons” (14.1%) and “other personal or family-related reasons” (11.3%).
