In 2021, inland waterway vessels have transported just over 166 million tonnes of goods on Belgian inland waterways. That is about ten million tonnes more than in 2020.
The container transport by inland waterway vessels amounted to 22.4 million tonnes in 2021 and increased by more than one million tonnes compared to the previous year.
