Increase of the producer prices for vegetables in open field

Prices for vegetables have increased by almost 13 % compared to March. This rise mainly reflects the increase of the producer prices for vegetables in open field. Prices for leeks have increased by 27.5 % in April, and those of witloof chicory by 32.5 %. The price for cabbages of all types has also increased.

As for animal production, the output price index for pigs (live animals) reached 122.6 points in April, confirming the upward trend already observed the previous month. While the price of chickens for boiling fell by 19 % compared to March, the price of chickens for roasting rose by 1.4 %.
