In November, 1,147 tonnes of fish were landed by Belgian vessels and sold in Belgian ports.
Plaice and sole still rank first with a share of 16 % and 14 %, respectively, of the quantity of fish landed and sold, i.e. 185 and 156 tonnes. Landings of ray decreased to 126 tonnes, bringing its share to 11 %.
Sole once again confirms its importance for Belgian fishing with a share of 34 % of the total value of fish sold. The share in value of plaice and ray is around 11 % and 6 %, respectively.
The average price of fish plummeted to € 3.77/kg in November 2020.
