Cinemas

In 2016, there were 92 cinemas in our country, that is 4 more than in 2015. The number of screens has also increased (from 472 to 496), just like the number of seats (from 102,410 to 105,666) and the gross revenues excl. VAT (from 155.6 to 157.4 millions of euros). The number of admissions has slightly decreased (from 21.43 to 20.97 millions). Flanders has relatively less cinemas than Brussels and Wallonia. The Flemish region represents 45 % of all film projections, and 46 % of admissions. The Brussels-Capital Region accounts for 17 % of film projections and admissions. Finally, Wallonia represents 37 % of seats and film projections.
