Almost 21 million spectators in the Belgian cinemas in 2017

Our country had 93 cinema businesses in 2017, 1 more than in 2016.

The number of spectators increased (from 20,581,267 to 21,009,653). The gross revenue excluding VAT increased from 154.4 to 162.0 million euros.

The Flemish Region accounts for 43% of the screenings and 46% of the audience, the Brussels Capital Region is the location of 16% of the screenings and 16% of the audience, and Wallonia accounts for 38% of the audience and 40% of the screenings.
