In February 2023, the number of VAT-registered enterprises increased by 0.3% compared to January with 3,163 more units.
This figure is the result of 8,790 new enterprises (first registrations), 1,065 re-registrations and 6,692 de-registrations.
The two sectors with the most significant increases this month are professional, scientific and technical activities (+ 873) and construction (+ 546).
First registrations
In February 2023 first registrations decreased by 20.4% in all sectors to February 2022. That is 2,254 less births than last year.
Re-registrations
As for re-registrations, all sectors combined, we observe a decrease by 4.9% compared to last year, 55 less enterprises.
De-registrations
In February 2023 , the number of de-registrations is 10.3% higher than in February 2022, or 626 more units.
Evolution of the population of VAT-registered units
In February 2023 we observe a 3.0% growth of the VAT-registered population over a year. The total population of VAT-registered units increased by 33,190 units compared to February 2022 and amounts to 1,149,335 entreprises.
