In February 2025, 8,708 new enterprises were created, 1,108 enterprises were re-registered and 6,607 were de-registered.
The total number of VAT-registered enterprises increased by 3,209 or 0.3% compared to January 2025.
The three sectors that increase the most are: professional, scientific and technical activities (+866), construction (+466) and administrative and support service activities (+373).
The only decrease was registered for public administration and defence/ compulsory social security (-2).
First registrations
In February 2025 first registrations decreased by 10.0% in all sectors to February 2024. That is 968 less births than last year.
Re-registrations
As for re-registrations, all sectors combined, we observe a decrease by 3.7% compared to last year. This is a decrease of 42 companies.
De-registrations
In February 2025, the number of de-registrations is 5.8% lower compared to February 2024. This is a decrease of 410 units.
Evolution of the population of VAT-registered units
In February 2025 we observe a 1.6% growth of the VAT-registered population over a year. The total population of VAT-registered units increased by 19,064 units compared to February 2024 and amounts to 1,194,872 entreprises.
