In June 2025, 5,639 new enterprises were created, 675 enterprises were re-registered and 8,457 were de-registered.
The total number of VAT-registered enterprises decreased by 2,143 or 0.2% compared to May 2025.
First registrations
In June 2025 first registrations[1] decreased by 0.7% in all sectors to June 2024. That is 41 less births than last year.
Re-registrations
As for re-registrations, all sectors combined, we observe a increase by 4.0% compared to last year. This is an increase of 26 companies.
De-registrations
In June 2025, the number of de-registrations is 9.4% higher compared to June 2024. This is an increase of 724 units.
Evolution of the population of VAT-registered units
In June 2025 we observe a 1.5% growth of the VAT-registered population over a year. The total population of VAT-registered units increased by 17,936 units compared to June 2024 and amounts to 1,198,956 enterprises.
[1]Since March 2025, newly registered VAT-liable companies receive an activity code based on NACE 2025. While most of these codes can be converted to NACE 2008, some cannot. As a result, the number of companies with an unknown activity code has increased.
