The number of VAT-registered enterprises increased by 3,804 units in May 2022 compared to April.
This figure is the result of 7,569 new enterprises (first registrations), 904 re-registrations and 4,669 de-registrations.
The main sectors contributing to the increase this month are professional, scientific and technical activities (+794), construction (+481), human health and social work activities (+454) and administrative and support service activities (+378).
First registrations
We register in May 2022 a decrease of 5.4% in the number of first registrations, all sectors combined, compared to May 2021. That is 435 fewer births than last year.
Re-registrations
As for re-registrations, all sectors combined, we observe a 10.0% decrease compared to last year, or 101 fewer enterprises.
De-registrations
In May 2022, the number of de-registrations increased by 10.2% compared to May 2021, an increase of 431 units.
Evolution of the population of VAT-registered units
The month of May 2022 shows a growth of 5.1% in the VAT-registered population on an annual basis. There is an increase in the total VAT-registered population of 54.587 units compared to May 2021, to 1.126.594 enterprises.
