In January 2025, 15,881 new enterprises were created, 1,990 enterprises were re-registered and 14,027 were de-registered.
The total number of VAT-registered enterprises increased by 3,844 or 0.3% compared to December 2024.
The three sectors that increase the most are: professional, scientific and technical activities (+1024), human health and social work activities (+570) and administrative and support service activities (+561).
The two sectors that decrease are: wholesale and retail trade/ repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (-88) and accommodation and food service activities (-32).
First registrations
In January 2025 first registrations increased by 8.9% in all sectors to January 2024. That is 1,300 more births than last year.
Re-registrations
As for re-registrations, all sectors combined, we observe a increase by 5.9% compared to last year. This is an increase of 111 companies.
De-registrations
In January 2025, the number of de-registrations is 3.7% higher compared to January 2024. This is an increase of 504 units.
Evolution of the population of VAT-registered units
In January 2025 we observe a 1.7% growth of the VAT-registered population over a year. The total population of VAT-registered units increased by 19,664 units compared to January 2024 and amounts to 1,191,663 entreprises.
