1,116,753 VAT-registered enterprises in March

The number of VAT-registered enterprises increased by 608 units in March compared to February 2022.

That is 8,023 new enterprises (first registrations), 812 re-registrations and 8,227 de-registrations.

The main sectors contributing to the increase observed this month are ‘Human health and social work activities’ (+891), ‘Administrative and support service activities’ (+122) and ‘Information and communication’ (+99).

The sector ‘Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ shows a negative balance of 375 units following among others the de-registration of 1,698 enterprises.

First registrations

We register in March 2022 a decrease of 3.3% in the number of first registrations, all sectors combined, compared to March 2021. That is 270 fewer births than last year.

Re-registrations

As for re-registrations, all sectors combined, we observe a 18.4% decrease compared to last year, or 183 fewer enterprises.

De-registrations

In March 2022, the number of de-registrations is 14.5% higher than in March 2021, or 1,042 units.

Evolution of the population of VAT-registered units

In March 2022, we observe a 5.4% growth of the population of VAT-registered units over a year. There is an increase in the total VAT-registered population of 57,086 units compared to March 2021, to 1,116,753 enterprises.
