Quantities of fish landed by Belgian vessels and sold in Belgian ports decreased to respectively 1,007, 923 and 917 tonnes in May, June and July but recovered to landings of 1,099 tonnes in August.
400 tonnes of plaice were landed in August.
The average value fluctuated sharply from January to August from 3.36 (January) to 5.16 (July) euro/kg. Due to the increased landings of shrimp in August, the price dropped to barely 4.05 euro/kg, while prices were still around 10 euro/kg in spring.
