Enterprises
In 2019, Belgium passed the 1-million mark of VAT-registered enterprises. There were 1,010,635 VAT-registered enterprises in Belgium on 31 December 2019. 19 % of these enterprises are part of the “professional, scientific and technical activities” sector (section M of the NACE Rev 2), 18 % of the wholesale and retail trade sector (and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles - section G) and 14 % of the construction sector (section F).
In 2019, 103,747 enterprises were created and 69,421 others were removed. Nearly half of these movements have taken place in one of these three main sectors.
