Organisation

The Directorate General Statistics and Economic Information (DGSEI) is in charge of the national (official) statistics in Belgium. The DGSEI is also responsible for the production of European statistics. These pages contain information on the organisation of the DGSEI, contact details and a brief history.

Besides the DGSEI other organisations carry certain responsibilities concerning Belgian statistics:

• The Statistical Supervisory Committee

• The Higher Council of Statistics

• The Coordination Committee

• The Institute for National Accounts

Finally, the General Directorate Energy is responsible for energy statistics and fuel prices.
