Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP)

The harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) is designed for a correct comparison of the inflation rates of the Member States of the European Union.

Eurostat calculates the HICP for the Euro area (as well as for the European Union as a whole) from the Member States’ harmonised indices.

Eurostat will publish the harmonised index of consumer prices for the Euro area for April 2013 on 16th of May 2013.

April 2013

The Belgian harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) amounts to 119.61 points in April 2013 (reference year 2005 = 100), against 119.81 points last month. This means an decrease by 0.20 points. The annual inflation rate amounts to 1.1 %
