Enterprises
The turnover of enterprises in Belgium, excluding agricultural and financial sectors, whose data reliability is not sufficient because of particular VAT returns or flat-rate systems, amounted in total to 941 billions of euros during the first three quarters of 2017, i.e. a 7 % increase compared to the same period last year. The sharpest turnover increase concerns the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (more than 16 %). Industry, the second largest section, also registers a turnover increase of 6 %. The biggest economic sector, at least in terms of turnover, is the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, with also a 6 % turnover increase between the first three quarters of 2016 and 2017.
