Sole and plaice are the most sold fish

In August, 1,018 tonnes of fish were landed by Belgian vessels and sold in Belgian ports.

Plaice and sole still rank first with a share of 23 % and 21 %, respectively, of the quantity of fish landed and sold, i.e. 233 and 219 tonnes. Landings of ray increased further to 133 tonnes, bringing its share to 13 %.

Sole once again confirms its importance for Belgian fishing with a share of 53 % of the total value of fish sold. The share in value of plaice and ray is around 11 % and 4 %, respectively.
