Sales of textiles, clothing, and footwear still down in October

As is the case since May and the end of the lockdown caused by the Covid-19 crisis, the volume of sales in retail trade, excluding fuels, is still on the rise in October compared to the same month last year. The annual increase amounts to 9.2 %.

In the same period, the sharpest increases were registered for “Retail sale via mail order houses or via Internet”, “Audio and video equipment, hardware, paints and glass, electrical household appliances, etc.” and “Information and communication equipment, other household equipment (except textiles), cultural and recreation goods, etc.”, i.e. increases of 28 %, 19.6 % and 14.7 %, respectively.

The sharpest decrease was registered for ‘Textiles, clothing and footwear’, i.e. a fall of 9.1 %.

These indices are expressed with reference year 2015=100.
