Economic indicators
In March 2020, the lockdown measures due to the Covid-19 crisis had a significant impact on the production in the construction sector. Consequently, the seasonally adjusted production index in the construction sector reflected a decrease of 5.1 % compared to February 2020. The calendar adjusted index reflected a decrease of 23.2 % compared to March 2019.
The results for March 2020 are provisional. The crisis due to the Covid-19 did not require to adapt the methodology of this statistic.
As the response rate to the monthly survey is lower than usual, larger revisions of the indices can be expected over the next two months.
