Increase in output prices for animal production

The output price index for animal production has increased by 2.3% in May 2019 compared to the previous month. This increase is mostly due to higher prices for pigs (+3.7%) and bovine animals (+0.8%). The latter was due to an increase in the price of bulls (+1.3%) but also and above all to in the prices of female bovine animals (+4.4% for cows, +3.0% for heifers).

The output price index for eggs has decreased by 7.3% compared to April. This price drop affects both brown and white eggs.

The price of the Conference pears continues to fall; in May 2019, it reached only 45.3% of its May 2018 price. The output price index for tomatoes has decreased by more than 58% compared to April 2019.
