The overall index for agricultural and horticultural products increased by 5.2 % in March compared to the previous month and by +9.5 % compared to March 2019.
The price index for cereals, animals and animal products remains relatively stable compared to February. The main variations are observed in the horticultural sector. For vegetables, producer prices have sharply increased in the second half of the month. Increases in chicory and leek prices, in particular, are pushing the vegetable index to 66.9 % above the February 2020 level.
Finally, it should also be noted that, since mid-March, due to a lack of transactions, there are no longer any quotation on the free market for potatoes. Prices and indices were calculated based on the latest quotations at the beginning of the month.
