Job vacancy figures – 4th quarter 2017

The job vacancy rate decreases while remaining above the symbolic threshold of 3 %, from 3.58 % in the third quarter of 2017 to 3.37 % in the fourth quarter of 2017. Indeed, enterprises offer 134,570 vacancies in the fourth quarter 2017 instead of the 142,650 vacancies in the third quarter 2017.    

Nevertheless, this result is higher than in 2016 (+0.48 percentage point on annual basis), when 112,990 vacancies were available in the fourth quarter 2016.

In Brussels and in Flanders, the job vacancy rate remains higher than in Wallonia (3.18 % and 3.67 % respectively, instead of 2.78 % in Wallonia), where it drops below 3 %.
