The number of VAT-registered enterprises increased by 7,572 units in April 2021 compared to March 2021.
The number of first registrations in April 2021 is the highest ever observed for that month in the last 5 years. It amounts to 12,792 new enterprises. Re-registrations are also higher than usual for this month (1,642 enterprises concerned). However, both phenomena are partially offset by a significant number of de-registrations (6,862).
First registrations
With 12,792 new enterprises, first registrations in all sectors combined are up by 94.1% in April 2021 compared to April 2020. That is 6,203 more births than last year in the same period.
Re-registrations
As for re-registrations, all sectors combined, we observe a 63.7% increase compared to last year, or 639 additional enterprises.
De-registrations
In April 2021, the number of de-registrations is 28.7% higher than in April 2020, or 1,530 units.
Evolution of the population of VAT-registered units
The growth of the population of VAT-registered units over a year accelerated in April 2021. We saw a 4.3% increase of the whole VAT-registered population, i.e. 44,388 more units than in April 2020.
