Agriculture: sharp decrease in prices for horticultural products in April

In April, the overall agricultural price index decreased by 3.6%compared to the previous month. The decline is mainly noticeable in horticultural products: -12.7%. The decrease in prices for inedible products (cut flowers and bushes) largely explains this decline.

For animals and animal products, the indices remain stable, although it should be noted that the egg price index fell by 8.2%.

Finally, it should be noted that there were very few transactions and therefore very few quotations in April for bintjes, which serve as a reference for the potato index.
