The agricultural producer price index increases by 10% in 2021

December closes the year 2021 on an upward note (+3.7% compared to the previous month) for the overall agricultural producer price index.

This index stands at 124.14 for the whole year 2021, i.e. an increase of 10.4% compared to 2020. Between 2020 and 2021, there is also an increase in the cereal index of 35.3%, a return of the potato index to a level similar to that of 2016 and a decrease of 3.2% in the animal price index. While the cattle index rose by 5.4% and the poultry index by 18.1%, the price index for pigs fell by 16.1%.

As regards horticultural products, prices for vegetables and inedible products pulled the index up; the index gained 2.9% compared to 2020.
