Agricultural prices rather stable in 2019

December marks the end of an agricultural year 2019 during which the overall producer price index remained rather stable compared to the previous year (116.45 compared to 117.38 in 2018).

The agricultural index has slightly increased, while the horticultural index has decreased by 5.47 %. Because of the declining prices for apples and pears, both at the end of the season 2018/2019 and at the beginning of the season 2019/2020, indices are well below the level of the reference year 2015.

Finally, in the animal sector, we observe an increase of the price index for pigs (+26.35 %).
