The agricultural index increased by 7.7%

In May, the overall agricultural index rose by 7.7% compared to the previous month. The horticultural index increased by 11.7% due to the increase in the indices of fruit and inedible horticultural products (flowers and plants). The agricultural index, which follows the evolution of cereals, root crops and animal breeding products, rose by 3.0%.

With regard to animal breeding products, the producer price of standardized milk has risen again since the beginning of the year; between January and May 2021, the index increased by 11.6%. The price level is finally approaching that of 2018 and 2019. The price index for animal production also rose due to price increases for adult cattle, pigs and chickens for roasting.
