6.2 % increase in agricultural prices in January

The overall agricultural producer price index increased by 6.2 % between December 2020 and January 2021.

The vegetable index increased by 17.0 %. This increase is due, among others, to the increase in leek prices (+53.5 %) and in greenhouse vegetable crop prices (+30.4 %).

The situation remains more stable for animal products. There was, however, an increase in the poultry index (+17.3 %), with prices back to a similar level as that observed at the beginning of last year.

Finally, for fruit, as has already been noted in recent seasons, the month of January is synonymous with an upturn in prices; the apple index rose by 10.3 % compared to December, and the pear index by 14.0 %.
