47.5 % of people aged 30-34 have a higher education diploma

The objective set in the EU2020 strategy that 47 % of people aged 30-34 should have a higher education diploma has been reached in Belgium in 2018. 47.5 % of people aged 30-34 had then a higher education diploma. This percentage is also 47.5 % in 2019.

With this result, Belgium is well above the European average, which was 40.7 % in 2018.

Women perform remarkably better than men. In Belgium 55.2 % of women aged 30-34 have a higher education diploma, compared to 39.8 % of men aged 30-34.

32.9 % of the total population aged 15 and over had a higher education diploma.
