64,810 bovine animals were slaughtered in March 2020. The number of slaughtered pigs was 939,975 animals, and the number of slaughtered chickens amounted to 24,964,998 units.

In 2019, 25.66 million animals were slaughtered on a monthly basis. That is what emerged from the slaughtering figures for 2019 published by Statbel, the Belgian statistical office.
