141 bankruptcies in week 42

During the week from 12 to 18 October included (week 42), the business courts pronounced 141 bankruptcies. This number is close to that of the previous week (150) which was characterised by a decrease compared to the stabilisation observed over the 4 previous weeks. During these 4 weeks, an average of 179 bankruptcies were declared.

These 141 bankruptcies in week 42 resulted in the loss of 260 jobs. This is a sharp decrease compared to the previous week, which registered the bankruptcies of two large enterprises.

This is what emerged from the weekly bankruptcy figures produced by Statbel based on the orders of business courts. These interim weekly estimates make it possible to quickly observe the first trends.
