1,059 tonnes of fish in Belgian ports in April

In April, the quantity of fish landed by Belgian vessels and sold in Belgian ports has decreased to 1,059 tonnes.

The landing of sole has increased to 232 tonnes and accounts for a fifth of the quantity landed. Landings of plaice and ray account for respectively 17 % (176 tonnes) and 14% (143 tonnes).

Sole, which was worth 11,6 € per kilo in April, accounts for 54% of the total value and plaice for 9%. The share of monkfish accounts for 8% of the value because of an increase in the quantity landed to 43 tonnes and an average price of 9.39 € per kg.
