Harmonised index of consumer prices - June 2017

  • Belgium's inflation rate based on the European harmonised index of consumer prices was running at 1.5% in June compared to 1.9% in May.
  • Core inflation (inflation without energy and unprocessed food) was running at 1.5% in June, against 1.6% in May.
  • The sub-indices with the largest upward effect on inflation were tobacco, motor fuels, electricity and gas.
  • The sub-indices with the largest downward effect on inflation in June were fruit and clothing.
  • The harmonised index of consumer prices of June for the EU Member States will be published by Eurostat on 17 July.
